You know one thing that really struck me though as i was reading these 2 chapters? I got thinking…. i wonder if I ever made God feel like this! Think about it. I mean think of all the times that God spoke to you and warned you and called you to holiness, righteousness and just to a higher calling all together and think of how many times we’ve turned our backs on Him. YET He still sent Jesus.. that right there tells you tons. MAN God is so good!

You might say that we are not quite at a point where we are sacrificing children, but I would argue that abortion is just that. Sacrificeing life to the god of self, labeling it ‘the right of choice’. And this is the common belief of our culture today, and to infringe upon that belief is considered immoral, pretentious, and presumtuious.

We live in a world where the Idol of self is predominant. Where nothing is true and everything is permitted, so long as it does not infringe upon anothers ‘truth’. A policy of appeasement has been addopted as the doctrine of humanity.

In light of these things, and reflecting on those scriptures, I would not be supprised if history were to repeat itsself. We certainly have not learned anything from it. I would not be supprised to see in the near future, God’s wrath unleashed upon the nations. And he will let us know, just as he did in Jeremiah. He will recieve all glory, for nothing we do can take that away from him. People will see the awesome might of him, and the fearceness of his wrath, and will (to regretfully borrow from the term) have the fear of God put into them, and will know whom they must worship.

Those are my thoughts on the subject, at any rate.

I mean yes there have been a lot of earthquakes and such due to nationwide sins. Thinking of Haiti for example. But i personally think that the next big “judgement” I guess you could say will be the the FINAL Judgement as in the day when we face Christ face to face and our final fate is being stated to us.

If a child does wrong, and continues to do so, a good parent disciplines it. If there is no discipline, the child cannot learn, and does not change their ways. They will only continue along the path that they travel. In the same way, God unleashed his wrath against Jerusalem.

It is made clear in the passage, that these people were sinning, to the point that they were burning their children alive, to appease idols. It was also made clear that God had asked them repeatedly to repent, and come back to Him, but they refused, and their sin only impounded on itsself. He stated repeatedly his remorse at what these people were forcing him to do, but they carried on nonchalantly.

In relation to today, I see this as a major possibility in humanitiy’s near future. I can see God remorsefully wiping most of the earth clean for our blatant, knowledable sin and indescression.

Also this reminds me, and with great remorse myself, of so many who have recently turned their backs on God. Not necessarily that its come to a point where God is going to unleash serious wrath upon them, but that is the path that they have chosen. It greieves me greatly to see so many of my friends, who I grew up with in the church turn their backs. To see so many leave for no reason that I can see. It pains me greatly, and like Jeremiah I weep for them. I wish that I could convince them to turn around, to leave it all behind… But they will not listen. They will not see anything beyond themselves, beyond their own noses.

I wish that there were somthing that I could do, or say. But I must leave it in God’s hands.
