MAN, God is doing awesome things at Donevan! 4 more young people gave their lives to Jesus today! More and more people keep coming and hearing the Word of God, it’s awesome!
I would love for everyone reading this to keep a few things in mind when praying:
Pray for people to pay attention and for respect.
Pray for more favor at Donevan and for us to be able to get into other highschools to be able to reach a greater number of young people for Jesus!
Pray for finances. (Yes, even to run a simple impact group we still need finances!)
Pray for Leaders to rise up.
Please keep us in prayer as it is not always eazy to go on unpaved grounds. We have been paving it for the last few years but it’s still rough on the edges! Thank you for everyone that are already praying for us each week!
I have been reading a book by Dave Earley called “The 21 Most Affective Prayers Of The Bible”, and i just came across something awesome. One of his chapters refers to Matthew 9:27-31, talking about the blind men that followed Jesus and begged “Have mercy on us, Son of David”.
That really rose up something in my heart… What is YOUR motivation? Dave Earley talked about “Desperation” being the blind men’s motives! Think about it this was. These men were blind, probably from birth, though the Bible does not specify, and they have lived their whole lives blind up to this point. Nothing but utter darkness day in and day out. Night 24/7. These men probably heard about the miracles of Jesus because the reality was that if Jesus came to your town, you would hear about it! I mean, come on… the guy that is casting out demons and healing people right left and center, trust me, the word got around. So sure enough it reached these 2 men and the Bible says that they followed Him and SHOUTED, ” HAVE MERCY ON US, SON OF DAVID”.
What are you dealing with today? What is your “infermity”? What is your “thorn in the flesh”?…. Better yet… is it driving you TOWARDS God? What is motivating you towards God?
So sunday was our fun outreach day for the young adults and it was BOMB! haha, as everyone knows, i like to be different so while everyone brought themselves crazy carpets and toboggans, i brought my snow board and ripped out some SICK tricks on a foot high jump. I know you are probably laughing but it’s the truth haha.
Hannah Waner brought a shovel and made the ramp a little bigger so i started to make bigger tricks but then i tried to bust out a 360 but didn’t fully turn it and landed straight on my shoulder and now it’s killing me. it’s all good, everyone got a good laugh out of it so it wasn’t a tottal waste of a trick haha.
We went to Pastor’s house afterwards for Hot chocolate and goodies and to spend time with them. I persoanally had fun because i was sitting with Leticia and watching Curious George. Besides that we had fun and were blessed to just have the Pastor share some stuff with us and to just be able to spend time with them. I was really blessed and i know the young adults were as well.
God took me out of my Egypt 7 years ago but there is still traces of Egypt in me. I love the fact that the Israelites were not going in circles in the desert for God to truly see what was in their hearts. I mean, imagine yourself going around in stinkin’ circles for 40 years. Year, after year, after year. Tell you what, some junk that you may have hidden in your heart will start surfacing. God is God and He knows everything so for the Israelites to go in circles in the desert was not for God to know what was in the people’s hearts but rather a chance for the people to realise what is lurking in their own hearts.
As previously mentioned, God has been working on me and it has been a while now. I have own of those tempers and anger that brings embarrassment to my own self haha. Being totally honest now so please don’t shout me down! It comes out the most when i am playing either a video game, board game or sport (ESPECIALLY sports haha. The 07′ and 08′ OCC baseball team will agree haha.) I’ve come to the place in my life where i can identify it and deal with it when it comes up but it wasn’t always this way. It was hard and the reality is that it’s still very hard. I have to fight daily so that anger does not rise up. I’m just sharing this because this volleyball group on Tuesday is doing a pretty good job at bring out what truly is in my heart and praise God, though i still struggle with it a bit that it is an encouragement to my self to truly see how far i have already made it!
God has been on my case about something for several years now and I really am dealing with it now. I love how God does things the way He does, and in HIS timing, not in ours. Ever wondered why God was wanting to deal with you in one area when YOU think/want to deal with something else that YOU think is more important?
I love the story of the Exodus, How God took His people out of the land of corruptin order to get the corrupt out of them. See, God is a God of order and process. If He makes us deal with everything at once, we wouldn’t be able to handle it. If God made me deal with everything that is wrong and messed up about me at once, I’ll probably kill my self haha. The reality is that we bury things within our hearts so deep sometimes because we are hurting so much and don’t want to let it be seen or want to see it our self. God had to Get them out of Egypt in order to take Egypt out of them.
A lot of times we surround ourselves with so much crap and take in so much junk that it’s what becomes of us. If i eat junk food everyday then my body will be filled of junk food and I’ll end up getting sick and all sorts of diseases will take over my body. Some of us do this very things and ask, “What do you mean I’m sick?” Sounds ridiculous right? Unfortuanately we do the very same with God.We Pay for lies, watch movies that deny Christ and use his name as swear words, we buy magazines that has nothing good in it unless you think junk is good. we listen to music that does NOT glorify God in anyways, and in fact it might even encourage to do the become part of the very behaviours that the Bible tells us to FLEE from. We feed ourselves all these things and then wonder why our devotional times are dry or just flat out suck! What you take it is what you’ll put out. What are YOU feeding your mind? Think about it!

So yesterday was such a beautiful day i decide to pull my dusty skateboard and to get some exercise. Kodi Osborn, Robert Facey and I decide to skate around my house to enjoy some fresh air and to have some fun. We decided to skate to the pond behind G.L. High School and thought it would be funny to actually try to skate on the frozen pond. We laughed so much because the fact is that it’s nearly impossible to stand on the skateboard on the ice without falling. My knees are killing me and so does my back. haha. We also thought it would be cool to play soccer on the ice. That was hilarious because every time we tried to kick it we would just fall. as if that wasn’t challenging, we threw some snow on the ice to make it even more slippery. Then we tried to run and see who could slide the furthest and i won It was only when i woke up this morning that I realised how out of shape I am haha. It really felt great to be outside skateboarding again. I am really looking forward to this summer because i want to start skateboarding again. I haven’t skateboarded for about 3 years now because of a skate injury. After i got hurt, fear gripped me whenever i skated so i haven’t really pick up my board but now i think it’s time to get rolling again. I can’t wait
Today was our second part of “When bad Things Happen” we talked out of Exodus 34:5-7. i talked a bit about how God is a just God.
Exodus 34:5-7 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
5 The LORD came down in a cloud, stood with him there, and proclaimed [His] name Yahweh. 6 Then the LORD passed in front of him and proclaimed:
Yahweh—Yahweh is a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in faithful love and truth, 7 maintaining faithful love to a thousand [generations], forgiving wrongdoing, rebellion, and sin. But He will not leave [the guilty] unpunished, bringing the consequences of the fathers’ wrongdoing on the children and grandchildren to the third and fourth generation.
I talked about How He died for us even while we were still sinning (Romans 5:8). The DVD story was about a girl that called her self Christian but ended up doing drugs with some friends and doing stuff to look cool in front of people. one day, her best friend that called her self a Christian but actually lived it, got in a car accident and died shortly after. Gabby, the girl telling the story, shared about how she got angry with God that her friend that was doing everything right was the one that died while SHE was doing everything wrong and nothing happened to her. She started to get convicted about how SHE was the one that deserved to be punished not her friend.
I used this story to bring the whole thing back to the fact that Jesus was the one with the clean hands yet it was His hands that were pierced not ours. He was the one that got beaten almost to death, not us. He was the one that was stripped down naked, not us. And He was the one that got crucified on the cross…. not us. He took our place and died the death that WE deserve. When i shared Exo 34:5-7, i shared about how even though God doesn’t let the wicked go without consequences, He is faithful to forgive them (and us) of our sins if we truly repent.
It was just an awesome moment all together. Needless to say God move mightly as 3 kids got saved and 3 others rededicated their lives to a serious relationship with Jesus! Please if you are reading this, keep praying for our Highschools, they need a move of God. The reality is that God is willing and ready but He needs servants to help plow the way! God Bless!
So, i was doing some research for our May1-3 2009 Generation Conference here at OCC, and i was looking up some Greek original definitions and came across a section of my concordance that has all the true meaning of names. So i looked up Philip and to my disappointment…… it means “Lover of Horses”. I don’t even like horses that much. So yea, that’s a bummer haha.

Last week was my second message on my “Words of Faith” series. It was based on James 3:3-12. Watch this clip. Dr. Masary Emoto is not a Christian and yet he understands this concept. The movie is pretty self explanatory so enjoy!
